Natercia Sousa, born on February 13, 1974, in Sao Miguel, Azores, passed away on September 25, 2025, at the age of 51. A resident of New Bedford, Massachusetts, she leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
Natercia came to the United States in 1979 and was a graduate of New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School, class of 1993. She worked in the packing department at Nye Lubricants, where she was known for her dedication and hard work.
She is survived by her mother, Maria N. (Vultao) Sousa; her daughter, Kendra Amarante, and husband Devin; her son, Jason "JJ" Vieira; and her beloved grandchildren, Benjamin and Gavin Amarante. Natercia is also survived by her brother, Adelino Sousa, and wife Janice; her sister, Nelia Sousa; nieces Karysa Cabral and Kaytlyn Cabral; nephew Reece Sousa; and two great-nieces, alongside several aunts and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Adelino Sousa.
Natercia had a passion for dancing and music, and she enjoyed traveling. She loved decorating her home and enjoyed drinking iced coffee. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren and cherished every moment spent with them.
Natercia's vibrant spirit and dedication to her family will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm with a Funeral Service beginning at 11:30 am in Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.
