Born in the Acores Portugal, a daughter of the late Eduino and Maria (Amaral) Filip she came to America in January 1960 and she remained in Fairhaven for most of her life.
Noemia worked as a cashier at Molly’s Convenience store and previously had worked as a hairdresser. She enjoyed quahogging, was an avid gardener and was a phenomenal cook. Noemia could do anything she put her mind to, including building a fish pond in her back yard. She also liked to provide to those in need by knitting hats and scarves for the homeless and preemie babies. Noemia always had a love for cats but her number one love of her life was her grandson, Mason.
She is survived by a daughter, Penny Simoes of Fairhaven; a brother, Antone Filipe of Acushnet, a sister, Eduina Butts of Fairhaven, her pride and joy, a grandson, Mason, sisters-in-law, Louise Parent, Muriel Parent, Paulette Parent, brothers-in-law, Marc Parent and his wife Cheryl, Gerry Parent and his wife Deborah and Paul Parent.
