Born in Funchal, Madeira, she was a daughter of the late Manuel A. and Maria I. (Goncalves) Teixeira and was a longtime resident of New Bedford.
Olga dedicated her life to her family, especially her grandchildren, who were her greatest joy. She was loved and admired by her family for her strength, courage, and faith. When she wasn’t cooking for her family, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and embroidery. Her family will forever be indebted to her for the kindness she instilled within them.
In addition to her beloved Joao, she is survived by her children, Sandra Dias and her husband Marco of Acushnet, John Medeiros of New Bedford, Anita Pacheco of Acushnet, Rosemary Senra and her husband Joao of Dartmouth and Suzanne Shoesmith and her husband William of Arlington; her siblings, Joao, Isabel, and Bernadette of South Africa and Jose, Conceicao and Fatima of Portugal; her grandchildren, Shawn, Angela, Dylan, Lucas, Isabelle, Lauren, Noah, Olivia, Adrianna and Marley. She was predeceased by her siblings, Louis and Fernanda.

Olga’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at 11:30AM in Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, 136 Earl Street, New Bedford, MA 02746. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial to follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
