Olive Howard

Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Antone and Fausta (Martin) Costa. Olive was the beloved wife of the late Donald Howard. She worked at Aerovox and as a custodian for several years. Olive was known for her warm heart and her love for family and friends. She enjoyed traveling and dining out and being with family.

Olive is survived by her step-children, Mark Howard of Coventry, RI, and Donna Bannon of Kingston,RI; her brother George Costa of New Bedford; her sister, Hilda Correia of New Bedford; her niece, Kathleen Bergeron of Acushnet, and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Mary Rose, Rose Poirier, Antonio Costa, Augusto Costa, and John Costa.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 17, 2025 at 10:00AM in St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, 343 Tarkiln Hill Rd., New Bedford. All are kindly asked to proceed directly to the church. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
