Patricia Anne (Thackeray) Cyr age 87, of Acushnet passed away Saturday July 11,2026 surrounded by her family at Sippican Healthcare, Marion, MA. She was the widow of Andre P Cyr and the longtime companion of the late Ronald J. LeBlanc.
Born In New Bedford, MA, she was the daughter of the late William Thackeray and Margaret Beauregard and step-daughter of the late Emile Beauregard.
Patricia graduated from Sacred Hearts Academy and St. Anne’s Hospital School of Nursing. After years of being a stay-at-home mom, she returned to work as an RN and was employed at the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home for 21 years leaving as the assistant Director of Nurses. She retired from the City of New Bedford as a Public Health Nurse.
Her greatest joys were her family, spending summers in Carver and Mattapoisett, playing games with her grandchildren, cards, Mahjong, tennis, winters in Florida, and square dancing.
Patricia is survived by her children Paul Cyr and his wife Linda of Ketchikan, AK, Diane Lima and her significant other Dennis Mackey of Westerly, RI and Eliane Cabral and her husband Ken Rush of Acushnet; her grandchildren, Matthew Lima, Andre Lima, Gregory Cabral, Nicole Cyr, Jonathan Lima, and Ashley Cyr. Her sister-in-law Madeline Larocque of Springfield, MA, and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Stephanie Tate for the wonderful care and friendship she provided to Pat over the last 3+ years.
Her visitation will be held on Thursday July 16,2026 from 4:00 to 7:00PM in Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Boulevard, New Bedford, MA 02745. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday July 17, 2026 at 10:00am at St. John Neumann Church, 157 Middleboro Rd., E. Freetown, MA 02717. Everyone is to go directly to the church.
