Patricia L. McCafferty

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mrs. Patricia L. McCafferty, who died on October 14, 2025, at the age of 93. Pat was the beloved wife of James P. McCafferty, who predeceased her after 43 years of marriage.

Pat was born on February 14, 1932 in New Bedford. Her parents, Thomas and Dora M. Hart, were lifelong residents of New Bedford.

Pat graduated from Holy Family High School and worked for Revere Copper & Brass Company. Following her retirement, Pat volunteered at the rectory of the former St. Mary’s parish near her home on Tarkiln Hill Road. For her dedicated service to the Church, Pat was awarded the Marian Medal by the Fall River Diocese.

Pat is survived by her loving sister, Janice A. Arguin, her niece Patti-Anne LaFrance, and nephews Paul, Michael, and James Arguin.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, October 20, 2025 at 10:00 am in St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, 343 Tarkiln Hill Rd., New Bedford. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
