

Patricia A. Rumney passed away on September 28, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on January 11, 1940, in Queens, New York, Patricia was a longtime resident of Wareham. She was the daughter of the late Charles Garvey (step-mother Diana) and Margaret (Smith) Orth (step-father Philip).
Patricia dedicated many years of her life working for the 3rd District Court until her retirement. She was married to the late Donald C. Rumney and was the former wife of the late Stanley DeVita. Patricia is survived by her daughter, Lisa Leaver, and her husband Jonathan, her two grandchildren, Kaitlin Leaver and Christopher Leaver, and his fiancée Sarah Rita, and her step-grandchildren Jillian Negron and her husband Carlos and Leigh Ann Raposo who affectionately referred to her as “Berry Bird”. She also leaves behind her sister, Erica Garvey, and her beloved dog, Coco. Patricia was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Garvey, and is remembered by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her professional career, Patricia was known for her vibrant personal life. She hosted her own TV show, "Good Morning Wareham," on WCTV and was actively involved in the finance committee in Wareham. Patricia had a passion for cruising, was a talented artist, and loved dancing.
Visiting hours will be held at Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford, on Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025 at 11:30 am at Acushnet Cemetery, 91 Main St, Acushnet.
