

Paul B. “Buddy” Miller, 83, of New Bedford passed away Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Roberta (Paes) Miller with whom he shared 62 years of marriage.
Born in Stambaugh, Michigan, son of the late Raymond and Aureila (Brunell) Miller he grew up there before moving to New England when he joined the Coast Guard. He served aboard the search and rescue ship USCGC Yakutat for four years. Among his many duties he was a rescue diver. He also served aboard the Coast Guard Tall Ship Eagle every summer on the Cadet Good Will Cruise sailing throughout Europe.
Buddy was a skilled lathe operator working for Stillwater Fasteners and also worked in construction.
Buddy loved his family and especially enjoyed fishing with his son Jason. He found happiness in tending to his backyard garden and he loved animals.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Jason Miller of New Bedford and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, October 10, 2025 5-7 p.m.in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private. www.rock-funeralhome.com.
