Pauline Briggs

Born in New Bedford, Pauline was the beloved wife of the late Leonard “Lenny” F. Briggs, with whom she shared 59 years of marriage. She was the daughter of the late Paul W. Gagne and Rita E. (Angers) Rothwell.

Pauline was a graduate of St. Anthony’s High School. She worked for Acushnet Company and later at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth before retiring.

Pauline lived a simple, meaningful life and found her greatest happiness in the comfort of home and the company of her family. Family gatherings were especially important to her, and spending time with her children and grandchildren was her greatest priority. She cherished passing down family traditions, values, and special memories to the generations that followed. She especially loved watching her grandchildren play sports and celebrating their accomplishments.

In her quieter moments, Pauline enjoyed knitting, playing cards, and going out to eat. She treasured the simple pleasures of life, and quiet moments at home were often among her favorites.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Susan Soucy and her husband, Paul-John, of Acushnet, and Lisa Medeiros and her husband, Peter C., of Dartmouth; her grandchildren, Paul Soucy, Zachary Soucy, Katelyn Medeiros, Madison Medeiros, and Adam Medeiros; her sisters, Diane Tetrault and her husband, Conrad, of New Bedford, Lucille LeBeau and her husband, Leonard, of East Freetown, and Annette Bastarache and her husband, Dennis, of New Bedford; sisters-in-law, Barbara Brown of Acushnet, and Mary Pine and husband, Joseph of Tiverton, and several nieces and nephews.

Pauline will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, especially her family, who will carry forward the traditions, values, and memories she held so dear.

A Celebration of Life for Pauline and her late husband, Leonard “Lenny” F. Briggs, will be held at a later date at ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745. Pauline and Lenny will be buried together at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
