Pauline Fabian

She was the beloved daughter of the late Louis Despres, Sr. and Yvonne (Houle) Despres.

Pauline was a woman of deep faith who devoted her life to her family. She cherished every opportunity to bring her loved ones together, hosting Sunday family dinners, ensuring every holiday was celebrated as a family, and welcoming everyone to weekly poolside cookouts throughout the summer. Saturday evenings were always reserved for a special date night with John, the love of her life.

Pauline found great joy in writing heartfelt letters to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren—letters that have become treasured keepsakes for each of them. She also loved bowling and was a proud member of a bowling league for many years, never missing an opportunity to share her impressive average. She also enjoyed occasional trips to Foxwoods Casino.

Though small in stature, Pauline was larger than life. She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, infectious spirit, remarkable strength, and fierce determination, all of which she carried with grace and courage until the very end.

Pauline is survived by her four children, Joanne Boudreau and her husband Roger, Susan Hebert and her husband Eugene, John F. Fabian, Jr. and his wife Jeanne and Diane Lavallee and her husband Maurice; her sister, Dianne Lowe; six grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandsons, Jacob Fabian, Aaron Lavallee, and Nicholas Hebert; her granddaughter, Michelle Lavallee; and her great-granddaughter, London Hebert; and her late siblings, Louis Despes, Jr. and Claire Fredette.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 from 4:00-6:30 pm in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at 10:00 am in St. John Neumann Church, 157 Middleboro Rd., E. Freetown. Burial will be private.
