Pearl Claire Dawson

Born in New Bedford, Pearl lived most of her life in New Bedford before moving to Alden Court in Fairhaven over a year ago.

Pearl devoted her working years to the New Bedford School system, where she served as a cafeteria manager.

Pearl was predeceased by her husband, Roland G. Dawson. She is survived by her daughter, Carol A. Jehu and her husband Robert; her granddaughter, Erica J. Hoag and her husband David; and her great granddaughter, Annika J. Hoag. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Lorraine Fleury and Doris Suchon.

Pearl was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary's Church, now St. Gabriel the Archangel Church in New Bedford. In earlier years, Pearl found comfort and purpose in knitting, and she loved to read.

Her Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at 10:00 am in St. Gabriel the Archangel Church, 343 Tarkiln Hill Rd., New Bedford followed by burial in Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution sin her honor may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
