Peggy Susan Costa

Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late William Walter “Blackie” and Blanche (Roy) Holden she was a lifelong area resident.

Mrs. Costa worked about 55 years as a nurse’s aide at Sacred Heart Nursing Home in New Bedford. Peggy was a kindhearted angel. She was determined and strong willed. Due to her husband’s job, she mostly raised her children on her own. Peggy was always putting other’s needs before herself and was always willing to give you the shirt off her back.

She is survived by three children, Lynn Anderson of New Bedford, Alan R. Costa and his wife Barbara, and Robert E. Costa and his wife Paula, Jr; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be Monday, August 16, 2021 at 11 a.m. in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by burial in Acushnet Cemetery. Visitation will be prior 9-11 a.m. For online tribute/directions: www.rock-funeralhome.com.
