

Born in New Bedford, he graduated from New Bedford High School in 1949 and Bryant University in 1951 with a BS in Accounting. He served in the U.S. Army for 2 years during the Korean Conflict receiving the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
Raymond worked as an auditor for the Department of Defense in Boston for 17 years. He then relocated from Weymouth to Dartmouth and worked as a comptroller at Bristol Community College until his retirement in 1989. He then worked as a part-time sales associate in the men’s department of Silversteins until 1995.
He was one of the founding families of St. Julie Billiart Parish where he served as a Eucharistic minister. He was a former member of the Federal Government Accountants Association and was an Emeritus Life Associate and 50 year club member of the Institute of Management Accountants. He belonged to several associations for Bryant University the Association of Retired Persons and Municipal Employees. Mr. Vincent was a volunteer at St. Luke’s and the Assistant Treasurer of the St. Luke’s Hospital Auxiliary.
Survivors in addition to his wife are a son: Stephen A. Vincent of Assonet, a daughter: Maureen T. Vincent of Dartmouth, 4 grandchildren: Sheri Pease, Derek Vincent, Andrea Klein Tyler, and Melissa Jackson, 5 great grandchildren: Logan Tyler, Dominic Hoyos, Sofia Chaves, Ariana Vincent and Kaiden Vincent, a sister- in- law: Lillian Cross-Vincent and several nephews. He was the brother of the late Norman L. Vincent and the great grandfather of the late Nicholas Hoyos.
His visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 from 5-7pm at the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford. His funeral will be held Thursday at 9am at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Julie Billiart Parish at 10am. Burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
