Richard was predeceased by his parents, Alcide and Rita (Trahan) Barrieau.
He was graduate of the Swain School of Design where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. A talented artist and musician, he shared his music at different venues throughout the area, offering his gifts with quiet dedication and care. He also attended the Hazelwood Adult Day Care.
Richard is survived by his brother, Leonard Barrieau and his wife Leona; and his sisters, Janet Dion and her husband Romeo, and Jacqueline Allen and her husband Robert. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Private services are in the care of Rock Funeral Home.
