Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Maurice and Rose (Roy) Deshaies, she was a lifelong resident and a parishioner of the former St. Joseph’s Church, New Bedford.
Mrs. Blanchette devoted many years to her position at Aerovox before eventually retiring from Sippican in Marion. She loved to travel with her husband, George, with Royal Travelers, was a member of the St. Anthony's Senior Club, attended dances at the Poirier Post, and cherished spending time with her granddaughters and great-grandsons.
She is survived by her stepson, Lee L. Blanchette and his wife Jacqueline of Taunton; her granddaughters, Sarah and her husband Michael of New Bedford, and Meghan and her husband Ryan, and their two sons, Noah and Liam of Taunton. She also leaves behind numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
She was the step-mother of the late Lance B. Blanchette and sister of the late Jeannette Deshaies, Robert Deshaies, Muriel Levasseur, Maurice Deshaies, Normand Deshaies, Rolande Goyette, Donald Deshaies, and Richard Deshaies.
