

He was the beloved son of the late Paul Desmarais and the late Frances (DeCicco) Desmarais Conti, he is also predeceased by his brothers Paul and Jim Desmarais and husband to Teresa (Sardinha) Desmarais.
He is survived by his spouse, Teresa, his sister Rosemary Barao, niece, Madison (and husband Julian), niece Samantha, nephew Nick, and many extended family members and lifelong friends (who Rob considered family) and his beloved canine companion, Hailey.
Rob graduated from Bristol Community College and was most recently employed as a Pl/FP Engineering Drafter / Designer. by GGD Consulting Engineers, Inc. since 2014. Rob was known for having laser focused determination towards his goals. This is evidenced by his impressive steady career advancement. Rob was a reliable, disciplined employee with a strong work ethic. Rob’s resourcefulness and exceptional IT and problem solving skills were relied upon by many colleagues. Rob continuously expanded his education, often self taught, furthering his unique ability to assist in a multitude of work related issues.
Rob treasured time with friends and family for fun and games. With the focus on Fun as he did not have a competitive nature. Rob was just as quick to lend a hand whenever needed.
He was loyal to his family and friends. Recently, Rob connected with his Jireh Swift Elementary School Classmates for a reunion.
Rob held a strong sense of sentimentality for every item pertaining to his family. He was fascinated with learning his family Ancestry, making sure to visit each new relative in person. Rob was a devoted doggy daddy who took Hailey on many doggy adventures.
Rob was a long-time dedicated active volunteer with the Feast of the Blessed Sacrament. He participated yearly, in the Fairhaven Polar Plunge with family and friends. By nature, Rob was mostly quiet and introverted. He was a man of routine and tradition.
Rob had many interests including attending live music concerts, exhibiting his sharp strategic planning skills when playing games with friends, Golf,
Yoga, Pickle Ball, Cycling, Photography, Astronomy, Film Noir, Horror Films, Star Trek, ComiCon, all things Beatles, music from extensive and varied genres, Hiking, nature walks and spending time at West Island with Hailey and her human and canine friends. Ever the adventurous foodie, Rob thoroughly enjoyed eating a wide variety of ethnic foods.
Rob was a Reiki Level 1 practitioner, a Canine Reiki practitioner, an IET Basic and Level 2 practitioner and would periodically join his wife in these practices. Rob built his own Native Frame Drum and Rattle with intentions to join in his wife’s practices and gatherings. He enjoyed learning and gathering with like-minded people. Ultimately, Rob was drawn to Buddhism. He was an active member of the Wat Nawamintararachutis Temple in Raynham, MA where he felt at home and at peace. Rob made friends easily and treasured the connections he made at the temple. His teacher, Monk Benny, holds a sacred grateful place in his heart.
Rob will Forever be held Dearly with Tremendous Love, in the hearts and minds of all who knew him.
On Sunday, October 26, from 10:00 - 11:00 am
You are welcome to join in blessing and honoring Rob at his sacred place of practice, the Wat Nawamintararachutis Temple and Meditation Center, 382 South St. East Raynham, MA.
At 2:00 we will meet at West Island Beach where The Temple Monks will chant a short prayer then release Rob’s ashes in accordance with Rob’s wishes.
