I know word travels quickly but in the event some of you were unaware, our beloved Michael passed away suddenly around 4:00pm yesterday, December 19 exactly one week before his 62nd birthday. This tragedy is one that shook us all, especially its proximity to both Christmas and his birthday. Michael’s personality was one that filled a room (whether you wanted it to or not) given his innate love and ability to use sarcasm. If you’ve seen literally any of his collection of T-shirts, you all know what I mean. He leaves behind so many friends and loved ones. He will be missed forever by all, but if there’s anything I’ve learned about him in the 30 or so years I’ve known him, it’s that he wouldn’t want any of us to feel sorry for him or mourn him. Easier said than done, I know. He’d want us all to celebrate him with a drink, and god forbid it be craft beer because he would undoubtedly have some sarcastic comment locked and loaded ready to fire off about it being “fruity.” Michael was intent on not having any services and he wanted to be cremated so that’s what we shall do. He will finally be at rest with his mother Mary and his brother John. We love you Michael, until we meet again…
Michael is survived by his children, Michael Kadel and his companion Melissa Collins and Sierra Stromayer both of New York; his companion Linda Pacheco of New Bedford; step-sons, Joshua Pacheco and his wife Amie of Somerset and Justin Pacheco and his wife Abbey of Dartmouth; his cousins Jeffrey, Cheryl, Joseph Joseph, Christine Boyan, Jeannette Lydon and Rosemary Newcomb; and his best friend Fossil. Eleven grandchildren, one great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Mary Joseph Kadel and brother of the late John Kadel.
Arrangements are in the care of the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd. All services are private. To leave a note of condolence: www.rock-funeralhome.com
