Robert was a proud graduate of New Bedford High School and honorably served in the United States Army. He went on to work as a dedicated postal carrier for 33 years until his retirement.
He was happily married to his beloved wife, Evelyn (Vera) Loureiro, for 38 years. Together, they shared a love for country western dancing and built a life centered on family, which was always Robert’s top priority.
A man of simple pleasures and strong values, Robert enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping, and black powder shooting. Above all, he cherished time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by his loving sons, Michael Loureiro and his wife Colleen of New Bedford, and Matthew Loureiro of Freetown; his grandchildren, Devin, Travis, Emma, and Issac; great-grandchildren, Grace and Samara; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Laurino and Alseriano Loureiro.
His funeral will be held at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, 343 Tarkiln Hill Rd., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
