
Born in New Bedford, son of the late Edwin and Mary (Dvorak) Majka, he lived in Florida for 2 years and had resided in New Bedford for most of his life.
He was a graduate of Bristol County Agricultural High School and served in the United States Army.
Bob had worked as a fork lift operator for American Pride Seafood- High Liner Foods for 8 years.
Bob was a CB Radio enthusiast with call letters PLANT MAN. He loved gardening and spending time with his beloved dog, Max and his parrots, Casper and Peanuts.
Surviving in addition to his wife Patricia are step-sons, Scott Arruda and fiancé Shaun Spicer of New Bedford and Todd Arruda of New Bedford; three grandchildren, Amanda, Samantha and Hayley Arruda; three brothers, Peter Majka and wife Kathy of New Bedford, John Majka of Florida and Steven Majka and wife Janet of Cape Cod; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Mary Majka.
His funeral services are private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
