Roberta C. Ducharme

Roberta C. Ducharme, 66, of New Bedford, passed away Friday, January 20, 2012 after a 3 year battle with cancer. Born on September 26, 1945, she was raised in Dartmouth, daughter of the late Michalina (Lee) and Raymond Maronpot.

She was the wife of Donald Ducharme of Acushnet to whom she was married for 47 years. Donald and Roberta met through friends at the ages of 15 and 16, fell in love, and lived a happy life together in New Bedford. She enjoyed gardening and spending countless hours with family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Kenneth Ducharme and Sara Auger, Roger and Suzanne Ducharme, Douglas Ducharme, Brian and Lorrie Ducharme, Michael Ducharme and Jennifer Cruz, her brother Robert Maronpot and his wife Dee from North Carolina, ten grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 9am from the ROCK Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by a Funeral Mass at 10am in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 4256 Acushnet Ave., New Bedford. Visiting hours Tuesday 5-8PM. Burial will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, Roberta had requested donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital Research at St. Jude Tribute Program, PO Box 1000.
