Roger G. Davignon, 75, of Acushnet, lost his battle with depression on July 24, 2021 at home. He was the husband and forever soulmate of Diane J. (Sulyma) Davignon with whom he shared 51 years of marriage. He was the love of her life since elementary school.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late Joseph Silva and Angelina (Valley) Davignon, he had resided in Acushnet for the past 47 years. He was a graduate of New Bedford Vocational High School.
He was a United States Army Veteran having served during Vietnam attaining the rank of sergeant.
Mr. Davignon had worked as a machinist at Chamberlain Manufacturing for 23 years, Brodeur Machine Company for 12 years and Apple Machine Company for 5 years.
Roger was a member of VFW Post 7239 in Acushnet serving as President for 16 years. He was a member of the American Legion in Acushnet and the Disabled American Veterans.
Roger enjoyed traveling, especially to Cape Cod, trips to the casinos, doing Sudoku and dining out with Diane and his family. His friends and family meant the world to Roger. He was The BEST husband EVER and will be loved and missed forever.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his beloved nieces and nephews, Edward Davignon and wife Joan, Richard Davignon and wife Brenda, Bryant Davignon and wife Rachel, Cherie Davignon, Meghan Davignon and Cole Davignon; his siblings, Angelina Robillard of New Bedford and Laurette Beals and husband Douglas of New Bedford; his sisters-in-law, Claire Davignon and Patricia Davignon; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings, Irene Polston, Doris St. Amand, Evelyn St. Amand, Alfred, Leo, Yvonne, Rene and Raymond Davignon; and predeceased by his beloved nephew, Albert Davignon.
Funeral services will be held upon the death of his wife.
