Roger Raymond Goyette, Jr.

Roger R. Goyette Jr., age 74 of New Bedford, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2020 in St. Luke’s Hospital.

He was born in New Bedford, the son of the late Roger R. and Pauline Y. (Harpin) Goyette. Roger was a graduate of New Bedford High School and spent most of his life living in New Bedford.

Mr. Goyette started his career working alongside his father as a Mechanic at Sparky’s in New Bedford until his father’s passing and then he became the owner and operator of that business for several years.

Roger was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force, proudly serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion and Patriot Guard.

He is survived by his son Raymond Goyette and his wife Melinda of New Bedford,; two grandchildren Miranda and Jacob Goyette; a great grandson Carter Goyette; a sister Lorrie Davis of Fairhaven and several nieces and nephews. He was the sister of the late Linda Knowlton.

Private arrangements with Military Honors will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.

I remember Roger from Normandin Jr. High Track Team and NBHS Class of 1965. Roger was a friend to all who knew him. To Roger's family and friends I offer my Prayers and deepest sympathy. Rest in Peace Roger.
