Ronald L. Dumas

Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Louis and Orephise (Trahan) Dumas, Ronald was a lifelong resident of New Bedford. He was the owner of R. Dumas and Son's Construction, and The New Ox Bow.

Family was very important to Ronald, and he enjoyed spending quality time with them. He was an avid bowler, enjoyed all sports, going out for long rides. He also loved making puzzles, talking politics, and sitting in the sun. In his youth he was a member of the Drum and Bugle Corp. Ronald also enjoyed a recent day out to the ballpark where he took batting practice. Ronald was a devout Catholic.

Ronald is survived by his children, Doris Costa and her husband James of Dartmouth, Raymond Dumas and his wife Suzanne of Egg Harbor Township, NJ, Phyllis Dumas, Jacqueline Perrin, Victor Dumas and his wife Lori, Louise Martin, and daughter in-law Lisa Belanger, all of New Bedford; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Phillip and Dennis Dumas, and brother of the late Roland, Laurier, Rene, and Gerard Dumas.

His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at 9:00AM in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, 343 Tarkiln Hill Rd., New Bedford, MA 02745.
