Ronald Trahan

Ronald Trahan, 79, of Acushnet, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Massachusetts General Hospital surrounded by loved ones. He was the husband of Lucille T. (Poisson) Trahan with whom he shared 54 years of marriage.

Born in Acushnet, son of the late Joseph and Alice (Oliveira) Trahan, he was a lifelong resident of Acushnet.

Mr. Trahan was a United States Army Veteran.

He had a successful career as a yacht painter working for Fairhaven Marine and Plymouth Marine. He also worked in maintenance at Bristol Community College prior to his retirement. Ronald was a caring family man and a talented carpenter who built his own home and also loved and enjoyed working in his yard.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Kimberly Trahan and companion Brad Robinson of Acushnet, Eric R. Trahan and wife Kim Carter of Acushnet, Ted Trahan and companion Alexandra Ludwig-Cordeiro of Acushnet and Matthew Trahan and wife Rebecca of Rochester; his grandchildren, Sarah Robinson, Camrin, Cooper, Tanner and Hunter Trahan; his siblings, Richard Trahan and wife Lynn of New Bedford, Robert Trahan of Fairhaven, Gerald Trahan of New Bedford, Gary Trahan and wife Laraine of E. Freetown, Wayne Trahan and wife Susan of E. Freetown, Brenda Gomes of Acushnet and Cynthia Tighe and husband Patrick of Vero Beach, FL; and many nieces and nephews.

His Funeral will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 9 a.m. from the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Francis Xavier Parish, 125 Main St., Acushnet.
