Sandra Morales

Born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, a daughter of the late Margarita (Jorge) and Miguel Alejandro Sr. and the late Manuel Yulfo. She worked as a seamstress for several local companies for number of years but left the workforce to dedicate herself to raising her children and being the most amazing grandmother and great grandmother that she could be.

In her spare time, Sandra would create beautiful crafts to be used for everyday as well as major life events like showers and weddings. She was a talented green thumb who loved to tend her plants. Her skills in the kitchen were second to none and she always remembered what everyone in her family liked to eat and what their favorites dishes were. She enjoyed spending time with her faith community but most important, above all, was spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Anita Torres of New Bedford, Vanecita Grammer and husband Eric of Fairhaven, and Marisol Morales of New Bedford; siblings, Esperanza Alejandro-Berube, Miguel Alejandro, Jr. of FL, and Miguel Guzman of CO; eight grandchildren; Luis Torres and wife Glorianna, Elias Torres and wife Sonia, Sonequa Andino and husband Isai Morales, Aaron Rocha, Shakeila Perez and husband Christian, Na’Arah Grant, Ciara Vazquez, and Keisha Vazquez. Nine great grandchildren; Devin Torres and fiancé Kelsey Hall, Elicity Torres, Cynia Vazquez, Sophia Marcel, Ajannie and Alira Morales, Jameson Rocha, Imani and Nyana Perez, and the 5th generation of jewels on her crown; two great-great granddaughters, Aviana and Ellaya Torres; and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Angel Luis Vasquez Jr. and sister of the late Carmen Beltran, Maria Nieves, Ida Guzman, and Eddie Guzman.

Her funeral will be Monday, September 11, 2023, at 10 a.m. in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 3-6 p.m. For online tribute/directions: www.rock-funeralhome.com.
