Shirley E. Soares

Born in E. Falmouth, she was a daughter of the late James and Evelyn (Ramos) Peters.

Mrs. Soares had worked as a home health aide for many years.

She enjoyed family and friends totally and completely. She loved attending birthday parties, graduations, weddings and being present for the births of a child.

She is survived by her children, Randall Soares, Manuel Soares, Jr., Steven Soares and Donna Rosa all of New Bedford; her sister, Alice Rose of New Bedford; her brother, Ronald Peters of New Bedford; her grandchildren, Paige, Tiesha, Mia, Quinn, Tiffany, Michelle, Tony, Manuel, Sabrina, Rockell, Kim and Tisa; fourteen great-grandchildren; seventeen great great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her great grandson Aaron Gant Jr.; her son James Soares and her two brothers Ernest Peters and Joseph Roderick.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at 11:00AM with visitation prior from 9:00AM-11:00AM in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford, MA. 02745. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery. For online tributes: www.rock-funeralhome.com
