

Stella (Golas) Lanzoni Peterson, age 95, of Acushnet died Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Our Lady’s Haven. She was the wife of the late Ed Peterson and the late Michael Lanzoni and companion of the late James Morocco.
Stella was born and raised in New Bedford, MA, a daughter of the late Alexander and Alexandria (Dlugozima) Golas. She graduated from Our Lady of Perpetual Help High School. Stella was a stitcher in the Pajama Mills in Fairhaven and also worked at Lizak and Nap Shoes, retiring in 1975. She loved to walk, travel, and shop, play Bingo and socialize and was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church.
She is survived by her son Robert M. Lanzoni of Acushnet; two daughters- in-law Marie I. Lanzoni of Acushnet and Janice E. Lanzoni of New Bedford; 9 grandchildren Jennifer Lanzoni and her fiancé Robert Gonsalves, Michael, Lance, Robert and Stephen Lanzoni , Anthony Lanzoni and his wife Leigh, Diane Braz and her husband Michael, Lisa Dean and her husband Adam, and Gina Lafountain and her companion Anthony Arruda; 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was mother of the late Richard L. Lanzoni and sister of the late Eugenia Forgue and Stephen Golas.
Her Funeral will be held Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 8:30am from the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA with A Funeral Mass at 10:00am in St. Francis Xavier Church, Main St., Acushnet. Family will receive relatives and friends prior to her service from 8:30-9:30am in the funeral home. Burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
