Born in New Bedford, Steven was the son of the late William and Judith (Gonsalves) Morris. He worked as a freelance laborer for many years and lived a simple life centered around the people and things he loved.
Steven had a personality that was impossible to forget. He enjoyed riding his scooter, playing pool, and, much to the amusement of those around him, was known for cheating at just about every game he played. A natural jokester, Steven had a nickname for everyone he knew and always found a way to bring laughter to those around him. He loved collecting knick-knacks of all kinds, enjoyed a good steak, and, as many who knew him would agree, he certainly loved to eat.
Above all, Steven was thoughtful and good-hearted. He had a way of making people feel special, and his generosity and genuine care for others were reflected in the simple philosophy he often shared: “Do everything with a good heart and expect nothing in return, and you will never be disappointed.”
Steven deeply loved his family, and that love was returned by all who knew him. He will be remembered for his humor, his kindness, his unforgettable personality, and the many memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him.
He is survived by his loving children, Steven Francis of Florida, Trisha Francis of New Bedford, Ashley Inacio of New Bedford, and Amanda Inacio of New Bedford; his siblings, William J. Morris of Georgia, Maria Olivia Graca and her husband, Francisco, of New Bedford, Carol J. Morris of West Wareham, Wayne D. Morris and his wife, Brenda J., of New Bedford, Janice A. Morris and companion, Daniel Amado of New Bedford, Daniel D. Morris and companion, Ramona Nieves of New Bedford, and Diana L. Almeida and her husband, David A., of Onset; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
