Born in New Bedford, Susan was the beloved daughter of the late Roland Arthur Boucher and Hilda (Moniz) Boucher. She was a longtime resident of Dartmouth, where she built a beautiful life filled with family, friendships, travel, and countless cherished memories.
Susan shared 52 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Michael D. Letourneau.
Susan dedicated 41 years of her life to nursing a career she embraced with compassion, dedication, and pride. She graduated from St. Anthony’s High School before continuing her education at the Fall River Diploma School of Nursing. Susan spent years working at Truesdale Hospital, and following their change, continued her nursing career at Charlton Memorial Hospital.
Outside of her career, Susan found joy in the simple things that made life special. She looked forward to Friday evenings at the End Zone, where she enjoyed her favorite drink, an expresso martini. An avid reader, Susan also loved spending time at the beach and traveling to destinations like Italy and the Caribbean, which held a special place in her heart. She was also a devoted Red Sox fan and enjoyed cheering on her favorite team. Susan was blessed with two special groups of nursing friends who remained an important part of her life. One group shared many delicious lunches together, while another became her birthday and shopping companions. These friendships brought Susan years of laughter, love, and wonderful memories.
One of Susan and Michael’s greatest joys outside of their family was Dana, their dachshund. Susan treasured her time with Dana, especially taking her for walks and giving her neck rubs in exchange for plenty of cuddles. Their bond brought her immense happiness and created memories that will forever be cherished.
Survivors in addition to her husband, one daughter, Dawn M. Letourneau of Dartmouth; one son Joshua M. Letourneau of Dartmouth; two granddaughters Ana Marie Letourneau and Allie Beatrice Letourneau; three brothers Roland Boucher Jr., Steven Boucher, and Michael Boucher; one sister Kathryn Lopes and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt and warmest thanks to the Southcoast Hospice team for the love, compassion, and dedication they showed Susan and her family during their most difficult time. Their care and support will forever be appreciated.
