Therese M. LaPerriere

Therese M. (Tracey) LaPerriere, 87, of Somerset passed away Monday, January 19, 2015 in the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. She was the wife of the late Conrad A. LaPerriere to whom she was married for 62 years.

Therese was born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Leo J. and Cecile (Ouellette) Tracey, she grew up and lived most of her life in the city and also spent more than 20 years in Fall River.

Mrs. LaPerriere graduated from Campbell Secretarial School and was a homemaker. She was active with the PTO and Booster Club at St. Anthonys High School. She played a critical role in spearheading the creation of Southeastern Massachusetts University. Mrs. LaPerriere was also active in working the election polls.

She is survived by her nine of her ten children, Pauline Lima and her husband Steve of Nashua, NH, Monique Sylvia and her husband Russell of Sutton, Paul LaPerriere and his wife Linda of N. Andover, Daniel LaPerriere and his wife Leona of Greensboro, NC, Marc LaPerriere of N. Dartmouth, Dennis LaPerriere and his wife Debra of Freetown, Andre LaPerriere and his wife Kathy of Freetown, Pierre LaPerriere and his wife Susan of Exeter, RI, David LaPerriere and his wife Ann Marie of Haverhill. She was the mother of the late Conrad LaPerriere, who is survived by his wife Bonnie of VA. Thereseis also survived by 24 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Also she is survived by two sisters, Claudette Moorhouse of Townsend, GA and Cecile Bateman of NJ and was the sister of the late Gertrude, Roland, Roger, and Leo Tracey

Her Funeral Mass will be Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 343 Tarkiln Hill Rd., New Bedford. Burial private. Visiting hours Wednesday 5-8 p.m. in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.
