Thomas Joseph Hart

Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Thomas L. and Sarah (Phaneuf) Hart. He was a lifelong resident of New Bedford. He attended New Bedford Vocational High School and then went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Army. Prior to semi-retiring, he was a private business owner for many years.

He played baseball as a young teen and was drafted by the Boston Braves. He loved the game of golf and was a member of the Country Club of New Bedford for over 50 years playing in many fourball tournaments winning the championship title in 1989.

In addition to his wife Jeanne, he is survived by his daughters, Cathy Medo and her husband, Michael, of Westport, and Susan Hart and her partner, Kerry St. Pierre, of Fall River; his grandchildren, Ryan Pallatroni and Levi Nolin; his sister in law, Judi Hart, of Dartmouth and his nephew and niece, Jeffrey Hart and Kristine Germane. He was the brother of the late Francis Hart and Robert Hart.

His visitation will be held on Monday, January 5, 2026 from 5:00 to 7:00PM in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. His Mass of Christian burial will be on Tuesday, January 6, 2025 at 10:00AM at St. Gabriel the Archangel Church, 343 Tarkiln Hill Road, New Bedford, Ma. Family and friends are invited.
