

Thomas "Tom" Robert, a generous and kind-hearted man, passed away on October 30, 2025, at the age of 61. Born on December 5, 1963, in New Bedford, Massachusetts, Tom was the beloved son of George and Theresa (Normandin) Robert. He graduated from Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School.
Tom's career was marked by his dedication and skill. He worked for Brookfield Engineering and Johnson & Johnson, and he found great joy in programming for Del's Nantucket baskets. His thoughtful and sentimental nature was evident in the way he approached his work and his interactions with others.
Tom shared a loving marriage with his wife, Mary (Arruda) Robert, for 19 years. He was a loving step-father to Kristy Young and her husband Michael, and David Pelletier and his wife Ashley. He was also a cherished brother to his sisters Donna Masse and her husband Michael, Kathy Bernier and her companion Victor, and Nancy Ferreira and her husband Frank, as well as his brother John Robert. Tom was a proud grandfather to Jayla Young, Jacoby "Buster" Young, and Lillian Youngblood. He is also survived by his best friend Able Carvalho and many nieces and nephews.
In his personal life, Tom was a man of many interests. He loved fishing, was known as a great storyteller, and enjoyed ATV racing. A computer aficionado, Tom was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His love for his grandchildren and his dog, Callie, was a testament to his generous spirit and thoughtful nature.
Visiting hours will be held at Rock Funeral Home, located at 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford, on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A funeral service will take place at the same venue on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at 10:00 am, followed by a burial at Acushnet Cemetery, 91 Main St, Acushnet.
Tom will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His legacy of kindness and generosity will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to be a part of his life.
