Violet Marie Amorin

Violet M. (Moreau) Amorin, age 80 of New Bedford, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2020 in St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the cherished wife of Jacintho “Jesse” Amorin with whom she shared a loving 61 years marriage.

She was born in Fairhaven, the daughter of the late Wilfred and Juliette Moreau. Violet had a passion for music & dance and many fond memories of her years dancing for Stella Pifko. She was employed at First National Supermarkets, Almac’s Supermarkets and later as a Fine Jewelry Salesperson at JC Penny. Violet loved her family dearly and took great pride in her children and grandchildren. She was an avid Patriot’s fan who loved music, dance, old movies and good books. She had a quick wit and a great sense of humor which was usually sprinkled with a little spice. She loved spending time with her family on the deck of Susan’s beach house, Sunday morning pancakes, family dinners and spending time with her and Jesse’s good friends.

In addition to her loving husband Jesse, she is survived by her daughters; Susan M. Amorin of Dartmouth, Sandra J. Loranger and her husband Thomas of Norton and Valerie A. Amorin of New Bedford; her four grandchildren, Tyler and Caitlyn Botelho, Matthew and Jack Loranger; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Robert and Wilfred Moreau.
