Wayne J. Boucher

Wayne J. Boucher, age 58, of New Bedford, passed away on January 7th, 2021, at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the husband of the late Kathy (Roy) Boucher of New Bedford.

Born in New Bedford and favorite son to the late Jean and Doris (Tremblay) Boucher, he was a lifelong area resident and graduate of Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School.

Wayne was a business owner, operating and managing multiple canteen trucks, restaurants, bars, and clubs. Over the past decade, Wayne owned and managed Whaling City Painting Co.

As a member of several local social clubs, including St. Michael’s Social Club, Centro Luzo Americano Club, and the Madeira Club, he shared his love of food and cooking and would often take the lead when it was time for members to be fed. He will be fondly remembered for his generous spirit, warm embrace, and zest for life.

Wayne enjoyed making people happy. He lived life to the fullest and never changed a bit.

Surviving are his children: Trisha Boucher and her partner Ryan Witkos, Derek Fountaine and his partner Jeanettie-lee Andrade, Toni Gonsalves and her wife Jillian Antunes-Gonsalves, and James Roy and his wife Cynthia Roy, all of New Bedford. Wayne is also survived by eleven grandchildren.

His Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 9:00AM in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745 followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. Mary's Church, Tarkiln Hill Road, New Bedford. Dear friend Wayne I’m so glad I got to see u on Christmas Eve & we chatted, witch left me sad to know u we’re about to pass on, my heart was shattered but u consoled with a loving hug & a sweet kiss in the cheek as we did said our last goodbyes & took a few selfies witch I’ll treasure til my last breath. U were a loving human been, so full of life laughter & love, carrying on a gold den heart for all that got to make friends with u, I’ll never forget u my sweet loving friend. My deepest condolences to All your children & grandkids, coworkers & close friends, May U Rest In the Sweetest Peace Now my Friend! Trish I’d love to be there & show my respects but unfortunately I just got put on Quarantine today Dec13th for COVID & do to the fact I live with my elderly mother I must stay in doors. Such sad news to hear of your passing. We were friends back in the 70's at Ashley School, our Fathers were both Fire Fighters for the city. I hope your Parent and Wife were waiting for you at the eternal gates. Rest in peace.

Wayne had a big heart. He would bring snacks to the club for everybody to enjoy. He was always the first one to pitch in and help whoever needed it He will be missed. My deepest sympathy to Trisha, Family, and Friends.
