Wayne R. Young

Wayne R. Young, age 74, of North Dartmouth, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital following a long illness. He was the husband of Gloria J. (Stavropoulos) Young with whom he shared 20 years of marriage.

Born in Boston, the biological son of the late Betty Dehart and the adopted son of the late Curtis and Mabel (Reed) Young, he had resided in New Bedford for most of his life before moving to Dartmouth.

Mr. Young had worked as a solderer at Norwell Co. for several years.

Wayne loved watching wrestling and enjoyed listening to Garth Brooks. He was an animal lover and had a sweet tooth.

Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Eleanor Bottom of New Bedford; two sons, Robert Barlow and Raymond Barlow and his fiancé Skyler Tavares; a sister, Kimberly Webber; a brother, Daniel Dehart; four grandchildren, Coralee DaCosta, Kendra Marie DeMello, Alondra and Allura Barlow; two great-grandchildren, Lilihnia DaCosta and Nicholas Arsenault; and his best friends, Dwayne Tromely, Kenneth Ward and Tanya Thorpe.

Funeral services are private in the care of Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA.
