A lifelong New Bedford resident, Wilfred was the son of the late Damase Horace Dupuis and Marie Josephine (Simon) Dupuis.
Mr. Dupuis served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a driver for Sunbeam Bread until his retirement.
He loved hunting, fishing and being a foster parent through the Mentor Program for many years. He was a member of the 700 Club, NRA and the Rod and Gun Club.
Survivors in addition to his wife, are his children, Cory Dupuis of New Bedford; Scott Langlois and his fiancé Kimberly Froias of New Bedford; his adopted son Austin Caputo of New Bedford; his son through guardianship, Jacob MacDonald of New Bedford; Wilfred Dupuis, Jr. and his wife Jackie of New Bedford; JoAnn Ryan and her husband Timothy of North Carolina; Lucille Silva and her husband Joseph of Somerset; Antoinette Nieuwenhuizen and her husband Tony of Dartmouth; 2 brothers, Ulric Jules Dupuis of South Dartmouth; Raymond Dupuis of Florida; 2 sisters,Josephine Frade of Wareham; Marie Anne Gryss of New Bedford, 12 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was best friends and a fishing partner to John Horta and best friends and hunting parners with Al Cousineau and Manny Leite.
He was the brother of the late Agnes, Pauline Celeste, Theresa, Blanche, Joseph, John and Cimon.
His Funeral will be held at 8:30am on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at ROCK Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford, followed by a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9:30am at St. Joseph-St Therese Church, Acushnet Avenue, New Bedford. Burial to follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 5-8pm.
