

Born in Fall River, a son of the late Charles and Bridget (Dorney) Kennedy, he was a life-long resident of the area.
Mr. Kennedy attended BMC Durfee High School before enlisting in the US Navy at the age of 17, serving during WWII. He was the former Treasurer of the Acushnet Men’s Catholic Association and was a Boy Scout Master.
He is survived by his six children, Kathleen Hohl and her husband Thomas of Easton, Dennis Kennedy and his wife Mary Kathleen of Northfield, Sheila Pittman and her husband Robert of Fairhaven and Florida, Jane Small and her husband Daniel of Maryland, Mary Treen and her husband David of Leominster and Patricia McKnight and her husband Joseph of Acushnet; fourteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Ethel Padden, George, James and Charles Kennedy.
His funeral will be held Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 9 AM from the ROCK Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, followed by a funeral mass at 10 AM in St. Francis Xavier Parish, 125 Main Street, Acushnet. Visiting hours TODAY, Monday 5-8 PM. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, New Bedford.
