William E. Medlock

Born and raised in Greenwood, SC, he was the son of the late James E. and Pearl (Cannon) Medlock.

While in Greenwood, Bill worked for Cotton Mill and Pepsi Cola until moving to Massachusetts in 1971. He worked for Pepsi in Rhode Island then Union Hospital, Parkwood Hospital and Mediplex in New Bedford, retiring in 2005.

He and Nancy enjoyed traveling in their motorhome and motorcycle and trips to Foxwoods and Newport Grand. His hobbies included fishing, playing the lottery and watching baseball, especially the Red Sox. He loved animals and his many cats and dogs through the years.

Surviving in addition to the love of his life, Nancy, is a daughter, Jerry-Ann Medlock and son-in-law William Waller of Acushnet; a sister-in-law, Betsy Firby of Onset; a granddaughter, Mandy Chase; a grandson, Brent Chase; a great-grandson, Tyler Chase all of Columbus, GA; and sister-in-law, Irma Medlock.

He was the brother of the late James and Clifton Medlock and Eloise Williams.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2014 from 10-11:30am with a Funeral Service at 11:30am in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, 1 Rhode Island Ave., Johnston, RI.
