It is with great sadness that the family of Zoilo Quiones Morales announces his passing on June 5, 2018 age 78 of New Bedford in Rhode Island Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Sandra Yulfo Morales to whom he had been happily married for 43 years.
Zoilo was also known by many as CHICO (the man). Born in Gurabo, Puerto Rico the son of the late Graciliano and Angela Quiones Morales, he was employed by New Bedford Housing Authorities, as a maintenance worker. He loved spending time with his family and his smile would light up any room. He loved spending time with many of his grandchildren and great grandchildren and his dog Gizmo. In his early years he loved spending time fishing, he was also quite the dancer. He enjoyed time at church when his health would allow and truly loved all his friends and family.
In addition to his wife he is survived by four children, Anita Torres of New Bedford, Vanecita and Eric Grammer of Taunton, Marisol Grant of New Bedford, father of the late Angel Luis Vasquez. Three grandsons, Elias Torres, wife Sonia. Luis Torres, wife Gloriana, and Aaron Rocha of New Bedford. Five granddaughters, Ciara, Sonequa and her husband Isai Morales, Keisha, Shakeila and her husband Christian, and Na’arah. Six great grandchildren, Devin, Elicity, Sophia, Ajannie, Cynia, and Jameson. Sister In-law, Esperanza and Warren Berube of New Bedford. A brother in law, Miguel Alejandro Jr. of Florida and Miguel Guzman of Colorado.
He was the third of nine siblings, Tony Morales, Wilfredo Morales, Fedal Morales, Reverend David Morales and Sonia Flores. Deceased siblings, Ramero Morales, Virginia Moreno, Soriada Santiago.
Funeral Arrangements are at the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Boulevard, New Bedford Visitation held on Monday, June 11th from 4pm to 8pm.
