

Ethel was born May 23, 1938, in New Berlin, IL, the daughter of Ralph C. and Meta D. Lovekamp Horn. She married Donald P. Kloppe the love of her life, on July 29, 1956 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in New Berlin; he preceded her in death on October 29, 1988.
Ethel attended St. John’s Lutheran School and graduated from New Berlin High School in 1956. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. In her younger years she was active in the church youth group and sang in the church choir. She began working part-time at Shirley’s Flower Shop and Lewis Memorial Christian Village. She went on to work at Memorial Medical Center as an Occupational Therapy Tech which she found to be her great passion, caring for patients for 24 years. Ethel also loved flowers and enjoyed creating floral arrangements. She was an active supporter of 4-H as a Floral Instructor. Ethel enjoyed being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She also treasured her many relationships with her family, friends, work friendships, and church friendships.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert L. Horn; sister, Marilyn L. Black and nephew, Robert L. Horn.
Ethel is survived by her children, Donald L. (Trenna) Kloppe, Lara A. (Rich) King, Linda M. (Todd) Knoles, and Dale E. (Kathy) Kloppe. 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law Robert Black.
Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 9:00 until 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 308 E. Gibson St., New Berlin. A Funeral Ceremony will follow at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.
