He was born on December 3, 1953, in Benton, IL, the son of Lindell and Novella C. (Frost) Shockley. Mark married Carol Lamb in Springfield. She preceded him in death.
Mark attended New Berlin High School. He grew up in Loami and was a daring, good guy with a big heart. Mark enjoyed watching Nascar, baseball, football, and wrestling, and he was a big fan of all the St. Louis teams. His favorite music was old time rock ‘n’ roll.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Beverly Gibbs and Tamara Manier.
Mark is survived by his son, Shawn (Sammy) Shockley of Chatham; grandchildren, Billy and Haley; brother, Kelvin T. (Elizabeth) Shockley of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2024, at Butler Funeral Home – New Berlin, 714 E. Gibson St., New Berlin, IL.
Burial will follow at Sulphur Springs Cemetery.
