Nancy Renfro

She was born on August 7, 1949, in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Foster R. and Gertrude (Karrick) Moffitt. Nancy married Lawrence “Larry” Renfro on September 20, 1968, in Edwardsville, IL. He preceded her in death, on April 20, 2021.

Nancy worked as a school bus driver for 14 years and volunteered at the Loami Area Community Pantry. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking (she won the Loami Chili Cookoff several times), sewing, knitting, and caring for her animals. Nancy was known as caring, empathetic, and family-oriented.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Judy Burke; brother-in-law, Jeff Oetken; and infant twin sons, Michael and Richard.

Nancy is survived by her son, Ryan (Kim) Renfro; grandchildren, Jessica (Joseph) Thompson and Sawyer Renfro; great-grandchildren, Jaxton and Josephine Thompson; siblings, Dave (Sandy) Moffitt and Lynn (Tim) Cloyd; and sister-in-law, JoAnn Oetken.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Butler Funeral Home – New Berlin, 714 E. Gibson St., New Berlin.

Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center, following services.

A private Burial will be held at Sulphur Springs Cemetery in Loami, at a later date.
