Rosemary “Rosie” (Fiaush) Maurer, age 96, passed away peacefully at her residence in Franklin, TN, on February 17, 2025. Rosemary was born January 10, 1929, in Springfield, IL, to the late Tony and Almina Fiaush of Divernon, IL.
She was also preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Henry “Heinie” Maurer of Pleasant Plains, IL; and two sisters, Patricia Kern and Antoinette Fiaush, both of Divernon, IL.
Rosemary is survived by one son, Mike (Tari) Maurer of Franklin, TN; and grandson, Luke Maurer of Charlotte, NC.
She retired after 26 years as a microfilm operator for the Illinois Department of Transportation.
Rosemary and her husband Henry resided for 70 years in a home on a hill located at the intersection of the Old Jacksonville Road and Farley Road. Their home was originally a one-room schoolhouse purchased by Henry upon his return from WW II.
She moved to Franklin, TN, in 2018.
A private graveside service was held at the Old Salem Cemetery.
