Alanna, I miss you so much and everyday when I look at Blaze I see you. Each morning that he wakes up and says good morning I thank God that he has given Blaze to me and Uncle Johnny to love for a time. I also wish that it were you and Blaze here with us, laughing and playing in the yard with me, Uncle Johnny and Jesse. But I know you are in a much happier place, walking with Jesus every day. Your time with us here was well spent sweetie, and you had done what you were meant to do. The tragedy of losing you will not be in vain Alanna, I will do all I can to see to that. So many lesson were meant to be learned, so many lives were meant to be changed by your loss...and I pray every day that the lesson was received by us all.

Your little Blaze is not so little anymore. He is 3 1/2 now and he will never forget you. Just today, as we were looking at a set of new bunk beds for him, he got on the top one and said 'this one is mine, and the bottom one is for 'My Nan'. He knows you are in Heaven with Jesus, but he still wants to share everything he has with you. He looks at your pictures often, and he remembers you when he gets candy or something special. He always wants to make sure you get some too. We talk about you not being 'on earth', and he says he wants to be in Heaven too. I let him know that he can go there one day too, when God is ready for him and his job here on 'earth' is done. He is ok with that thought, but he never forgets his Sissy. And he ALWAYS call you 'MY NAN'. You belonged to him, he is sure of it. :)

Alanna, I promise you that I will take care of Blaze for you (for as long as God allows him to be with us). I will love him just as much as anyone ever can. I will teach him to be a great man. A man that knows God, that has integrity, that loves, and that doesn't judge. A man that forgives others, and holds no grudges. You will be proud of him as he gets older.

Oh, he talks so well now. You would be amazed. I remember the last time you and Blaze and Mommy were here together, and we were sitting around the table eating supper. He was talking and talking and talking and no one could understand him, no one but you that is. We were all laughing so hard, and he made the whole meal like a comedy act with his expressions. Well, he still does all of that, but now we can understand everything he says. He is hilarious! I know you and he would be so close if you were here. He loves you so much.

I know you see everything from the streets of Heaven's, and I pray that you are smiling down at us, and that you KNOW, and you see how much you are loved and missed. You are never far from my thoughts, and when you stray from them, I look at Blaze and there you are again. I love you my sweet grand-niece. Kiss Jesus for me.
