Alicia is preceded in death by her father Rodrigo Nuestro. She is survived by her husband Mark Schafer, mother, Antonia Nuestro, son, Chris Kerby (Anie) of San Antonio, TX, brother, Alfredo, sisters, Celia, Belinda, Ellen, Flora, Janna, grand children, Mikaela, Kerby, Jordan Kerby, and Noah Kerby.
Alicia was a veteran nurse with over 28 years of service helping people at various places in Eastern North Carolina, especially at Pitt (Vidant) Hospital, and CarolinaEast Medical Center. When she was not serving others as a nurse, Alicia enjoyed travel, singing karaoke, and watching movies.
The family will receive friends from the hours of 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Cotten Funeral Home.
