Anne was born in Bath, NC and grew up in Enfield, NC. She spent many summers with her grandparents in Bath when she was young and hunted for Blackbeard’s treasure in and around the river. She graduated from Enfield High School as Valedictorian, then attended St. Mary’s College in Raleigh and UNC-Chapel Hill.
Anne lived in New Bern since 1966. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren. She was always happy to see her grandchildren and to hear about their exploits and accomplishments. She enjoyed being with friends, playing tennis, and tending to the flowering plants she had no matter where she was living.
Anne was preceded in death by her son John C. Tayloe III, brother Joseph Hunter Norman IV, nephew Niels Hansen Norman, and niece Claire Norman Deakin.
She is survived by her son Hunter Norman Tayloe Sr., nephew Joseph Hunter Norman V, grandchildren John Cotton Tayloe IV, Casey King Tayloe, and Hunter Norman Tayloe, Jr.
A service for Anne will be held at Christ Episcopal Church 11am Friday, December 16, 2022 in New Bern with a burial in the church yard. There will be a reception at the church following the burial.
