Arthur Eugene Spang, Jr., “Art”, 63 years of age died at his residence on August 6, 2022 surrounded by his wife, family and friends. The house was filled with love for a man that can never been replaced.
Art is survived by his wife, Brenda Spang; his two son’s Joseph Spang and Alexander Spang and his step-children; Bridgette Nunez, Raymond Harrison, and Brianna LeTourneau.
Art was born in February 1959 in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania to the late Arthur Eugene Spang, Sr. and wife, Rose Marie Pirhalla Spang. He was the oldest of five children: Patricia Spang, Frank Spang, John Spang, and preceded in death by his youngest sister, Nancy Spang.
Art received a degree in Criminal Justice at the University of Maryland in 1991. He had a prestigious career in law enforcement for 45 years serving his country in the United States Marine Corp, New Bern Police Department, Homeland Security and U.S. Department of Defense.
His oldest son said it best, he was a “warrior.” He taught those around him by his words, actions and even at times silence. Art has left a remarkable mark on everyone he encountered in. Art loved his wife, sons, family and those who became his extended family. He was respected by his peers in his profession. He kept those he loved close. He lived all facets of his life by the 6 characteristics of moral character: Integrity, Honesty, Loyalty, Self-Sacrifice, Accountability, and Self-Control.
