Jane was a dedicated employee of CarolinaEast Heart Center, where she worked as the office manager. She absolutely loved her job, and it showed. All of the employees and doctors were like her second family. When she recruited new employees, even the local businesses and restaurants knew her as "Jane from the Heart Center". She treated everyone she met like she had known them for years and was always sporting the biggest, most contagious smile. She was warm and inviting and always made everyone feel welcome and at home. If you needed it, Jane made sure you had it!
Jane was a 4-time cancer survivor, and she took so much pride in that. Every day was a gift from God and she lived her life that way. She never let her diagnosis or treatment define her or keep her down. When the doctors told her "You have 6 months" she'd smile and say, "Here hold my purse and watch this". And she beat it every single time. She was also currently a part of a clinical research trial for a new cancer treatment, and it filled her heart to know that she would play a huge role in future treatment for other cancer patients just like her someday. They even wanted her to write a book once the trial was completed.
Jane loved her family the most. Her favorite things to do with them was to cook, shop and simply just visit. She loved cooking with her husband and relaxing on the porch. "Sister Sunday's" were what she always looked forward to, where all the girls in the family would get together and just visit. Her 2 daughters were her pride and joy, and she was so proud to be having 2 grandchildren at the same time! She would light up when people asked about them. Being their Lolli was a title she fought to live for. Her daughters' friends were like her children as well. She loved each of them as her own and she was even known as one of the "Cheetah Girls".
Jane loved Jesus and had such a strong faith. She loved going to church with her mom and being a part of the fellowship. She also loved her 2 dogs and treated them like her children as well.
She was known for her contagious smile; infectious spirit and they joy she brought into every room she entered. Jane was and still is loved by so many.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Elsie and Wilford Philyaw. She is survived by her loving husband, Billy Davis Jr; daughters, Madison Davis (Ervin) and Olivia Davis (Austin); her grandchildren, Emersyn Jane and Elliott Crue, her sisters, Linda Banks (Joel), Rose Hatcher (Doug), brother David Philyaw (Stacy) and Carol Coddington and Nancy, 2 special family friends.
