Betty Jones

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Lee Jones, in 2010; by her parents, Clayton and Esther Askew Harrison; her sister, Corinne Modlin; and her sister-in-law, Ann Harrison.

Betty cherished spending time with her family. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother to her two daughters, Brenda Tetterton Schutta and her husband Pete, and Sandy Lou Stotesberry and her husband Rex of Plymouth, NC; her two sisters, Marie Respess and her husband James Earl, and Connie Repass and her husband Tony; two brothers, Buddy Harrison and Tony Harrison and his wife Janice; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Betty enjoyed decorating cakes, shopping, traveling, and eating pizza. Her favorite restaurants were McDonald's and Bojangles. While she was able, she was actively involved in her community through her work at Calvary Baptist Church, where she ran the pantry. She was known for her compassionate, kind-hearted, patient, selfless, devoted, and brave nature.

The family will receive visitors at Cotten Funeral Home, on Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at the same location starting at 2:00 pm. Burial will take place at Jones Family Cemetery in Fort Barnwell, NC, following the service.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the Crystal Coast Hospice House in Newport for their compassionate and caring support.
