He was a member of the Breath of God International Outreach.
He is survived by his wife Kathy Barton; three sons Chris Barton of New Bern, Dustin Barton of Pamlico County and Jarrett Barton of New Bern; brother Freddy Barton of New Bern; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm, Sunday, November 6, 2016 at Cotten Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, November 7, 2016 at Greenleaf Memorial Park Lakeside Chapel.
